A truly compelling read that savors lightly of Sister Souljah's "The Coldest Winter Ever". Miss Holmes takes us into the twisted thought process of an Out of Control young woman, who enjoys the "Ghetto Fabulous" lifestyle.The book opens and we meet Danielle, a twenty year who has been accused of murder. [I won't go into too much about that as I don't like to post SPOILERS]. The bottom line is, she finds herself in this situation because of a Man that she claims to love. From there we are taken back into Danielle's childhood and all of the event's leading up to this train-wreck of a life.
She struggles with moral turpitude and her unwillingness to fully accept God's will for her life. She only turns to god when her situation gets funky. When all is well she's back in the streets with her girls chasing c()ck and fighting Ho's. She waffles back and forth thought-out this books and your heart just breaks for her, wishing she would get it together. You want to reach into the story and slap some sense into her.
Sexually Promiscuity, narcissistic tendencies and an overwhelming desire to be loved by a man, leads this young woman down a path of self-destruction. There are too many BAD decisions here to count and I did not see one sage piece of advice from an adult...except from an Aunt...I think.
There was a bevy of supporting characters and I struggled to keep up with them all. I was confused by the overuse of the name "Chase". There were three Chase in total and I was often confused as to which one she was DO'ing in that paragraph. Yes. She did more than her share of men (Mostly drug dealers and street thugs - because that's what she liked. There was not one man in her life that had any redeemable qualities and she claimed to love them all in some way. Unfortunately, she never learned to loved herself. She placed her worth on the desirability of thugs and gangsters. They came by the dozens.
I'm giving this book a strong 3.5 stars because it held my attention from start to finish. I usually hit RETURN when I come across a book with this many errors, but the story held it's own. The e-book could use a good scrubbing for type-setting, formatting and grammar. And I'm not talking about the grammar nestled in prose.
Good first book.

Very good read...I could barely put it down...I would recommend reading this book...looking forward to the next book...
God puts all of us thru something weather we realize it or now. True to the story. The author has every right to publish her story don't hate cause your husband got caught up with someone else, you must not have been treating him well or he wouldn't have slept with another woman. You know who you are if you were in the book. So I would say quit being a hatter and enjoy life for what is is. GOD loves us all. Well put together book. Can't wait to read the next one.
This was the best read of 2014, I read the whole book non-stop, I litterly couldn,t put it down . I am so looking forward to the next one. Very good work by Angela Marie Holmes !!!

I wouldn't recommend this book, I got have way threw it and I didn't like it. It was more like a sex book to me.
